As communities across Birmingham and the wider region are affected by devastating fires this week, Rt Revd Dr Michael Volland, Bishop of Birmingham and Rt Revd Esther Prior, Bishop of Aston said:
“We are deeply saddened by the fires that have affected communities across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region.
“We hold in our prayers those who have seen their homes damaged or destroyed, those who have been evacuated, and all who are frightened by the fires and smoke.
“We give thanks for the emergency services who are working tirelessly to keep people safe, and for the neighbours and communities who are looking out for one another.
“In times like this, we are reminded how much we depend on one another. Our prayer is that those who are frightened or grieving will know the strength and kindness of those around them.”
