Sustainability

Growth needs to be sustainable. We need to be proactively working towards a position where Church of England Birmingham is financially sustainable and that our long-term presence is ethical, just and a real positive for the communities we are part of.  To do this we have a range of projects aimed at the sustainability of parishes like Generous Giving Advisor, Parish HR Support, Bookkeeping Service and Parish Building Surveyors. We also have projects looking at our wider impact as an organisation including Net Zero Carbon and our response to the housing crisis as articulated in the Coming Home report.

Net Zero Carbon project

The Net Zero Carbon project will focus on delivering the different targets, for all parts of the Church of England Birmingham to become net zero carbon by 2030. The Net Zero Environment Group (NZEG) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and reports to the Church of England Birmingham Environment Board.
