Operations Manager - All Saints, Four Oaks

The Parish of All Saints Four Oaks is seeking an Operations Manager, to oversee our Church and Centre operations and to support us in our wider mission and ministry.

Purpose of Role

Working within the overall vision of the church, the key purpose of the Operations Manager is to:

  1. take a lead on all operational matters for All Saints church and centre, in line with our vision;
  2. develop a strategy to enable all aspects of what we do to be more financially sustainable for the future;
  3. create and maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all church and centre users;
  4. oversee and develop a staff and volunteer team

 

General Conditions

Salary: £35,000 pa

Pension Contributions: Auto enrolment Pension Scheme

Hours of Duty: The post is offered on a full-time basis working 37.5 hours per week and flexibility is required, to be able to attend PCC meetings as required, work at weekends on occasion in order to oversee events or fulfil other aspects of the role (including covering out-of-hours opening/closing or being the emergency contact, as needed).  Overtime is not paid but time off in lieu is provided and the successful candidate will be expected to manage their own diary in order to be able to work the required hours as best meets the needs of the Centre. Lunch and other breaks are unpaid.

Annual Leave: The leave year runs from 1st January to 31st December, 28 days which includes Bank Holidays.

Contract: The employer is the PCC (Parochial Church Council) of All Saints Four Oaks. The post is permanent and subject to a six-month probationary period.  

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

    • business management, building/facilities management or other related discipline;
    • Managing projects (financial and people) at a senior level, working across disciplines to deliver key outcomes on time and within budget;
    • Managing contractors and negotiating tenders;
    • Development of plans to maximise on usage of room hire facilities
    • Managing people, both paid and volunteers;
    • Developing and implementing effective management frameworks including, information technology, human resources and governance;
    • Risk management processes including health and safety risks and organisational risks;
    • Leading change in a commercial or non-profit environment.
