Tuesday 1 April

Frederick Denison Maurice, Priest, Teacher of the Faith, 1872

Father, we lift up "Farm Church" in Wood End, which has been supported by the Children & Families Missioner in Coleshill & Polesworth deanery, asking for your guidance in bringing the right individuals to support this new community. May families feel welcomed and inspired to join, and feel the Spirit of love and connection in this new worship space.

Wednesday 2 April

World Autism Awareness Day

Creator God, Lover of diversity of all kinds, all made perfectly in your image.
Remind me daily how perfectly we were made imperfectly.
We seek your comfort and strength for those with autism and their families.
Grant them support in challenges and bless them with peace and joy, even amidst difficulties.
Help us to celebrate joyfully all our Gifts.

Thursday 3 April

Prayer today is from the Project Management Office (PMO),

Father, please continue to bless St Mary & St Ambrose & Anchor Church as they become Rea Church.
We pray for the healthy and successful launch of Table communities and for the right staff join the team to support the growing ministry.

Friday 4 April

One of the most destructive weapons in the assault against the family today is that of gender-based violence and Mothers’ Union is one of many organisations fighting against it. Canon Claire Laland, Mothers’ Union, invites us to pray,

Dear God, we pray for strength and healing for those affected by domestic violence.
May Mothers' Union bring hope and support to all in need.
Amen

Heavenly Father, thank you for your constant presence in our lives.
Help us to recognize and cherish the blessings we have and feel the gratitude in our hearts.
Guide us to appreciate life's gifts each and every day.

Monday 7 April

World Health Day

SS Peter & Paul, Water Orton, invite us to pray,

Creator God, we are reminded today on World Health Day that there are many people who do not have access to adequate health care. We pray that all bodies, including Governments, address underlying causes and strengthen health systems.

Tuesday 8 April

St Michael and All Angels Bartley Green invites us to pray,

Lord, we give thanks for planning permission to improve access to our building. We pray now with our Sisters and Brothers in Christ, as we work to make changes to our doors and improve safety for our nursery children. We look forward to making our church more accessible to the community.

Heavenly Father, bless our community gardens as places of connection and growth.
May they nourish our bodies and spirits, strengthen our bonds,
and inspire us to care for the earth and each other.

Thursday 10 April

Janice Wones, St Laurence, Northfield, invites us to pray,

Lord Jesus, who had concern of the vulnerable in the population, we offer our prayers for the safeguarding team and congregation. We pray that they will have the perception to notice abusive incidents and the wisdom and empathy to react correctly.
But, more importantly, may they be able to see dangers before they occur and to know how to prevent any abuse taking place.

Creator God,
may every breath we take be for your glory,
may every footstep show you as our way,
that, trusting in your presence in this world,

where you are alive and reign
for ever and ever.

Tuesday 15 April

Holy Week

John Nightingale invites us to pray,

The painter, John Constable, wrote to his wife: "Every step I take and on whatever object I turn my gaze that sublime expression in the scriptures 'I am the resurrection and the life' seems verified for me."

Let us pray that we too may see the world in the light of the risen Christ.

Thank you, Father, for the 26 people that have signed up for Flex Foundations cohort 1 and pray that the course will help them grow in leadership and the specific skills that they each need.
Please Lord may the 19 newly commissioned children's workers who have recently been commissioned be encouraged and embolden to grow new young disciples for Jesus.
We pray Father God that you will stir up and encourage the right people and right numbers for the next commissioned set of courses starting in May 2025.

Almight God, we pray for the new Oversight Minister’s that the initial relationship building and conversations may be fruitful and forming.
We pray Father for the forthcoming vacancy in Rowley Regis that there is a swift resolution and the right person into the role.

Today is Stop Food Waste Day. About a third of food produced in the world is wasted. John Nightingale, Footsteps, invites us to pray,

Lord, we ask for wisdom in managing our resources, that surpluses nourish those in need through food banks, and that waste is composted safely. We pray that Birmingham adopts a food waste collection, promoting stewardship and care for our community and environment.
