The family of Bishop Mark Santer have announced with sadness that he died at home on Wednesday 14 August. A website has been set up to honour his memory, and to aid others in doing so.
I have been able to confirm Bishop Mark died peacefully at his home, and sent prayers and condolences. Mark was the 7th Bishop of Birmingham, holding office between 1987-2002.
The family write on the website,
'Over the last years and months, his numerous health issues were catching up with him. He died peacefully at home with all of us at his side. He bore these last difficult days in a spirit of deep faith in God, and his mind remained as sharp as ever. We witnessed his lack of fear, his sense of peace, his content and preparedness.
This site shares details of his funeral, and links for donations. We would also welcome you to share and upload any favourite pictures of Mark to this site to share with us and others. We have our own images and memories but would be delighted to see yours too.’
