New Climate Action Learning Module Launches on Pathways

As Church of England Birmingham celebrates becoming the first diocese in the country to achieve Silver Eco Diocese status, a brand-new learning module has been launched on Pathways to deepen our collective understanding and response to the climate crisis.

“Climate Change and the Church” is a 90-minute interactive learning experience designed to equip diocesan staff and parish communities with the knowledge and tools to take meaningful climate action. The module invites everyone to consider their part in stewarding God’s creation, regardless of their role or background.

The module, developed by Caroline Egan, Assistant Diocesan Environmental Officer in collaboration with the Pathways Learning Platform team, blends video presentations, interactive content, reflection points, and a short quiz to reinforce key learning. By the end, learners will have:

  • A better understanding of the science and urgency of climate change

  • Practical ideas on how to make a difference in church, at work, and home

  • Space to reflect and commit to the next steps within their team or congregation

Set aside about 90 minutes to complete the module, or dip in and out as your schedule allows. It’s an ideal resource to share with your PCC, leadership team, or wider church community as we continue our journey towards Net Zero by 2030.

Access the module now via Pathways - you will need to create a Pathways account if you haven’t already.
