An important part of Eco Church is making sure that our church worship helps us to be aware of our interconnectedness with all of God’s creation, and encourages us to be good stewards of that creation.
There is particular opportunity for this by holding a Climate Sunday service. Climate Sunday particularly helps us to prepare for this coming November when the whole world’s environmental focus converges in Glasgow for the United Nations COP26 Conference. This will be a crucial conference for accelerating the world’s green transformation to tackle climate change. The event needs to be supported by prayer, commitment and political good will.
Churches Together in Britain and Ireland invite us to hold Climate Sunday services before 5 September to prepare the way for the Conference. There are lots of resources and suggestions on the Climate Sunday website.
