Head of Leadership Development

We are looking for an exceptional leader who will shape the future leadership of Church of England Birmingham (CofEB). Working under the leadership of the Director of Ministry, and consulting widely, the successful candidate will support the growth of lay and ordained leaders across Church of England Birmingham, capable of leading towards greater spiritual depth, numerical growth, and missional confidence in their roles, through the design and deployment of impactful learning approaches and experiences. They will lead projects that will find and test new ways of discerning and forming Christian leaders, including how we scale this up.


Head of Ministry Operations

The Head of Ministry Operations plays a key role in ensuring the Ministry Team operates effectively and efficiently in support of the diocesan vision of *Growing Churches at the Heart of Every Community*. Working closely with the Director of Ministry and other team leaders, the role oversees day-to-day operations, develops sustainable systems and processes, supports strategic priorities such as vocations, formation and leadership development, and contributes to the wider mission of the team through collaborative leadership, effective administration and a commitment to prayerful discernment.


Diocesan Safeguarding Caseworker

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Diocese of Birmingham's Safeguarding Team as a Diocesan Safeguarding Caseworker. The role is central to ensuring that children, young people, and adults at risk are safeguarded through the effective management of safeguarding concerns, the provision of trauma-informed support, and collaborative working with clergy, parishes, statutory agencies, and partner organisations. Working within the Church of England's safeguarding policies and national standards, you will contribute to creating a culture where safeguarding is embedded in every aspect of ministry, ensuring concerns are managed with professionalism, compassion, and accountability.

Church Buildings Support Officer

The Church Buildings Support Officer supports parishes in maintaining, repairing and developing church buildings. The role provides technical advice, provides support for maintenance and heritage projects, supports statutory compliance, assists with grant-funded initiatives and works with clergy, PCC and volunteers to ensure church buildings remain safe, sustainable and fit for mission.


Parish Administrator - Christ Church, Selly Park

We are an Anglican church, serving a parish in Selly Park, South Birmingham, which is about to enter Vacancy. The church was established here about 50 years ago as a plant from St Stephen’s Church, Selly Hill, and has grown substantially since the early days, into a thriving church with an Evangelical tradition. We currently engage four paid staff namely a Caretaker, Cleaner, and Toddler Group leader, and which will include the new Administrator. We have several groups/sub-committees who are responsible for different areas of church life, and our many volunteers enable most of our activities to take place.


Creative Schools Missioner - Christ Church, Yardley Wood

We are looking for a creative, open-minded person with gifts and passion to engage students, staff and their families in the Christian faith. In collaboration with the clergy and volunteers, they will help Christ Church grow a worshipping community that arises out of the desires, gifts and cultures of our school and its local area.


Head of Growing Younger

The Head of Growing Younger will provide strategic leadership for Growing Younger across Church of England Birmingham. Working with clergy, lay leaders, schools, children and youth practitioners and diocesan colleagues, the postholder will help create the conditions in which churches of every tradition, size and context can engage more effectively with younger generations.
