Working in a Church of England School opens up a whole range of professional development opportunities. Where once Local Authorities provided training for our schools, with the reallocation of resources through central government and the move to all schools becoming Academies, the Diocesan Education team has sought to ensure that schools still have access and are signposted to appropriate and quality assured training opportunities across the academic year.
The outline entitlement of support for schools in Birmingham Diocese is as follows:
NQT Induction
Data Analysis
Middle Leadership
Senior Leadership
Recruitment of Senior Staff
Support for Governance
We also hold regular training events, both general and tailored, to individual schools and groups of schools.
Our Schools Senior Leadership Conference held annually in early March provides an enjoyable and stimulating opportunity for senior leaders to gather, network and listen to a number of relevant keynote speakers.
During the Pandemic, we have adapted much of our training and events to take place online and this will continue in some cases. Our key CPD offer for 2022-23 2 will be published shortly.
ST MATTHEW'S TEACHING & RESEARCH SCHOOL
We are delighted that one of our CofE Birmingham schools - St Matthew’s CE Primary in Nechells - is a Teaching and EEF Research School. We promote the training and events offered by St Matthew’s in our monthly eBulletin to schools.
To keep informed of CPD events they have coming up, please visit St Matthews CE Primary website or e-mail the school.
