Safer Recruitment Administrator - Gas Street

Key Objectives:

As Safer Recruitment Administrator you will ensure all volunteers and staff have adequate safer recruitment checks and safeguarding training.

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Ensure all staff, PCC and volunteers go through the safer recruitment process before serving at Gas Street Church 
  • Ensuring staff undertake any additional training required and communicate any updates with HR team
  • Maintaining DBS, Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment records and processing DBS applications
  • Professionally reaching out for references on behalf of individuals 
  • Updating Safeguarding literature (e.g. posters) where required
  • Keeping up-to-date records of training logs and arranging refreshers upon expiry
  • Regularly updating GS Team leaders on the progress of individuals they are recruiting for teams
  • Renewing safeguarding records and training when they expire

 

Other operational support to the staff team of Gas Street Church as agreed with the Head of Operations and Senior Pastors

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, timelines and priorities and troubleshoot problems
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • An ability to juggle a broad range of responsibilities
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive matters
  • Ability to relate to a wide range of different people in different roles including clergy, staff, volunteers and community partners
  • Initiative to seek solutions and implement new ways of working
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, cope with frequent change and meet deadlines
  • Personal walk with Jesus underpinning a lifestyle of integrity
  • There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post-holder be a practising Christian

 

Working requirements:

  • Part-time, permanent role (7.5 hours per week)
  • Salary range:  £23,920 - £25,000 FTE (Adjusted pro rata
  • 25 days annual leave (pro-rata)

             + statutory bank holidays

             + three additional days at Christmas 

             + one retreat days across the year (one per term)

  • Attend Gas Street Church 
  • Evening and weekend flexibility as required
